We spent 2 weeks in a boathouse we rented, then decided it wasn't enough so we extended for another week...or was it 2 weeks..? Hmm..can't remember. In fact can't remember much about the trip...LOL.
we arrived just in time for the birthday celebration...with a space cup-cake of course...
this was our 1st boathouse...the modern one with the red panelling
the living room with the huge windows...what a view!
my favourite past-time was just sitting by the window watching boats go by. Tourists would go crazy and take loads of photos of us.
the scene that set 4 hearts racing at the hash museum...
we had our meal at McD's where we made our own version of MUSHROOM SWISS : )
...hanging out at some of our favourite coffee shops...
we did a lot of random stuff...like feeding ducks who visited our boathouse...
...walking...
visiting the park...where we met this guy, Luka, and he just kept following us...
so strange!
so strange!
...fertilise a parking meter...
...see how many cherries we can stuff at 1 go...LOL
...fertilise the canal...
One day we decided to make a conscious decision to be more cultured. So we visited museums like the Van Gogh and Rijk museum... The former is one of my fav museums. The latter was spectaular too. Loads of important works.
...and of course we spent a whole day at the Heineken brewery museum...(still a museum rite..hehe...)
... there were some realy cool stuff like this room to chill out...
...and we had the freshest, yummiest ice cold beer ever!
Did u know the 'e' in was deliberately tilted to make it "smile"? lol. Only thing i learned from that day!
...we also spent most days meditating...in between coffee shops... : )
and we came across this graffiti in the same style at a few places all over town...
"oceans of emotions give no guarantee for smooth sailing"
"she fears the ghouls that reside in her shadows"
we took some time out to enjoy the scenery...
and we even went for a movie...Ocean's 12 i think.. or was it 13..?
(he loved Transformers so much he just HAD to pose here in his fav T!)
I went to this public toilet where the stalls have transparent glass doors. But once u slot in a coin it turns opaque. Ubiquitous around europe at that time...but i jakun never see b4... : P
After 2 weeks we felt we haven't seen enough of Amsterdam so we packed up all our stuff, dumped it into the car, drove round to the opposite side and settled into our 2nd boathouse!
i preferred the interior of the previous boathouse but i liked the deck on
our 2nd boathouse where we can park our boats...
...normal boats and small paper ones too! : ) (must say that was 1 fine paper sailboat!)
...also we can chill out on the deck...
...and made a new friend!...
...and she kept coming back to visit us...
We went exploring the many canalways with our trusty boatman and navigator...(hunky too!)
...with 2 not-so-cool looking skippers!
...and when it rains, we'll take cover under little bridges...
(...guess this foto doesn't need any caption by now...haha)

Lastly, i'm a fervent believer of the cliche when in Rome...
