Diary of the Brainy Bombshell: Wonderful Weekend at Aman Rimba!

My closest friends and I escaped to Aman Rimba for a weekend getaway. Carm suggested this place and she kinda guilt us into going, using her birthday as the perfect excuse... Personally, I don't really need much persuasion when it comes to holidays : ) so i was real glad we all managed to make the trip. Yes even Caryn who's back all the way from London. Thank goodness that darn EKDLDJFFZLL volcano stop spewing stuff...

It was funny how we didn't really discuss who were suppose to bring the birthday cakes so we ended up with 3!... All 3 cakes were different and so super yummy we slowly finished it over the course of 3 days...

We quietly lit the cakes whilst the 2 b'day girls were in the room... Then i had to drag them outt before the candles burnt out...
And of course Carm still managed to look surprise. She's a real good actress i tell you...

The next day, i thought i was the earliest riser, but Kokkin beat me to it... Or beat me to the breakfast table to be more precise...

Super yummy Nasi Lemak with fried chicken and sunny sides...Porridge... Egg Counter...

we had the WHOLE place to ourselves...I can wear whatever i want! Now that's what i call a real holiday villa!

We were plotting ways to get everyone out of bed...

Then JJ, Li, Freda joined us...

finally... everyone's up...

After breakfast we did the perfect holiday activity: DO NOTHING!

Unless you consider sitting around chatting something...

or camwhoring...which i confess is my hobby...

Some played fusball...

Then i remembered i haven't given Caryn and Carm their pressies yet...

I knitted Caryn a scarf...

And got Carm some make-up stuff she wanted...

Gosh it's been so long since i celebrated both their birthdays together...

I decided to walk around the garden en route to HQ...

There were loads of birds wandering around freely...

Peacocks, peahens, turkeys, swans and ducks...

Bumped into Freda and James fishing...

And An-doi too...

We kept feeding the swans and ducks. They always seem hungry...

the caretaker was kind enough to arrange for auntys from the nearby village to come over to give us massages...

Some were playing UNO drinking games... I think Bo invented it...

We were served really good traditional malay food. Dishes like ayam masak merah, beef rendang, nangka masak lemak...all very spicy...very super yummy!!

The chef also steamed the fish some of them caught from the lake...

We were also served loads of fresh local fruit...

After lunch the staff drew the blinds down so we could chill away from the afternoon glare. Come to think of it, it was quite nice not using air-con...

When the sun became less unkind, it was

time to resume our nature-loving outdoor activities!

ChuiLing caught a fish!!!

I think we've got some pretty good fishermen amongst us. We caught about 4-5 fish which the chef gladly cooked for us. It really felt like a kampung back to nature retreat!

There were some cotton tress planted around the property.

I thought the cotton flower was pretty nice.

Cow actually took it home to stuff her pillow! : )

The swimming pool was rather small but it had a pool treadmill.

up his feathers... (must have seen my bikini...harhar...)

Then not to be overshadowed, the turkey ruffled his feathers
and opened up too! OMG it was hilarious!!!

the longest underwater... Naturally the ex-sportsman of the year won... : )

Ooooh.. tea time! We had pisang goreng and green bean dessert... It was so funny cause Weils and I were just fantasizing about what they might serve us for tea and we actually wished for goreng pisang!

Nothing beats a snooze on a hammock after a yummy meal... : )

Caryn and I shared a room... and i decided to thong her hair before dinner...

We had BBQ for our 2nd dinner...They really know how to spoil us!

Some of us were walking back to HQ when someone (I swear it wasn't me...)
grabbed Carm and threw her into the pool! LOL... i was like "Eh, where's Carmen???"

Hahahah...

Then Cow, Cheryl, ChuiLing thought oh what the heck and jumped in too!
A minute later Weils walked out of her room and we grabbed her in too. Funniest part was she just walked out of the shower! LOL
