AiLin invited me to join her and her friends for dinner at Dish at Dua Residence, KL. I've always wanted to try it (and i missed my chance the last time Jessie had her Hen's Night). We were a little confused about where Dish was and we accidentally walked into Delicious.
Then we saw Delicious Ingredients, a nice grocery supermarket by the Delicious Group. We approached the lady at the deli counter to ask where Dish was. She very rudely gestured towards the back. We tottered over towards the back looking (& feeling) like lost gong-gong so-sos... Finally we asked this white guy (who looked like he works there)...He very rudely pointed us to the table...OMG i've never been given such discourteous service!

4 of us arrived first...
Pondering what to order.. everything looks DELICIOUS! (couldn't resist...hahah)

Then came Chudi (aka Mr. Leow) straight from work...
...we were served bread baked fresh from their bakery...
the crust was so light and crispy and the inside was soft and fluffy...
It was so good we asked for another 3 more! LOL
(lucky they didn't charge us...I think it was to compensate for their sour faces earlier)

The food took a while to arrive...and we were really hungry...
Some of us took the time to choose a nice bottle of wine...
(And by "nice" we mean the taste and AND the PRICE...heheh..)
...some of us took the chance to camwhore...
...some of us just sat down looking grumpy...
...and grumpier...
...till AiLin suggested he check out "THE BAKERY".
Chudi : I WANT THIS ONE!!!...Ooooohhhh.....
Chudi : Hey Cheryl, don't the bread look soooo good??
Cheryl : Erm, I think they're fake...
Chudi : No, not the top row... the bottom one!
Cheryl : Ohhh... *blush*
Finally! Our main dishes arrive!
AiLin had 7 Hour Slow Roasted Lamb Shank in a rich tomato stew served with Dececco Tagliatelle Pasta finished with a hearty dose of Basil Pesto (rm48)
(watch out babe...Chudi's eyeing yours too...)
I had Australian Grain-fed Tenderloin 150 days (approx. 350 gm)
(rm28 per 100gm)
(rm28 per 100gm)
...grilled medium-rare...The outside was nicely sealed and the inside still juicy!
Exactly how i like it! Yummsss!

Upon serving, the waitress melted the Truffle Butter with a blow-torch ...
DROOOOLLLSSSS...
DROOOOLLLSSSS...
Some men were either really hungry.. or greedy...
Chudi ordered Australian Grain-fed Striploin 150 days (approx. 500gm!!!)...
(rm20 per 100gm)
We shared side orders (all rm15) of Charred Brussel Sprouts with Chilies & Anchovy,
Mashed Potatoes with Truffle Oil (which was heavenly)
...and Onion Rings! (no fancy name needed.. it's everybody's favourite...)
We really enjoyed our mains...Yup the food was good!
Chudi thoroughly enjoyed his steak...every morsel of it!

While someone continued to struggle with his!!
verdict : GREEDY!!! LOL
Lucky he didn't order the AustralianWagyu Marble 5 Prime Rib (aprox. 1.5kg!!!!!!)
Then it was time to order dessert...
AiLin: Wai Lun, are you sure you can eat dessert?
Wai Lun: Why not? It goes into a different stomach!...
(hahaha... I guess for some the saying "you are what you eat" becomes literal!..HAHAHA)

While waiting for our desserts, AiLin and I sauntered over to the grocery mart...
They sell normal everyday stuff like potato chips, sauces, jams, drinks...etc
They also sell fresh meat and diary products like ham and cheese...
...and offered a decent collection of wine...
We were happily cam-whoring when this white dude appeared from nowhere...

Then he very nicely offered to help us take a photo...And of course we were only too glad to pose...
Until we saw the photo that is...

Cheryl: OMG!!! (then passes camera to AiLin)
AiLin: ...*speechless*
Needless to say we were NOT amused!
Dessert time!
Intitially Wai Lun and I wanted to share the Deconstructed Banana Split : Home-made Banana Ice-cream served on a bed of Peanut Butter, grilled Bananas & Pouring Chocolate (rm18)
Wai Lun : Hey Cheryl look... *wiping drool off the corner of his mouth*... Peanut Butter!!!
Unfortunately they ran out of bananas! : (
So i had Green Tea Souffle with Chocolate Sauce & Lychee Granita (rm18) instead...
Cheryl : Wai Lun, get your own... I'm not sharing!
Wai Lun and Sue Yin both had Crepe Suzette flambe in Orange Cognac butter, served with Haagen Daz Vanilla Ice-cream (rm18)...
Sue Yin: Wai Lun, get your own, I'm also not sharing! (hahaha)
Chudi had a cup of coffee... (how european)
Ai Lin had Decadent Flourless Chocolate Fudge Cake
with Haagen Daaz Vanilla Ice-Cream (rm18)...
Even though the service sucked initially and we felt quite warm (due to the lighting...or maybe it was the wine...hmm) on the whole, I think it was a good experience.
The food was very well prepared and in generous portions.
All our steaks (which were cut about 2 inches thick) retained their juices...the pasta was al dante with just the right amount of seasoning...neither too bland nor overpowering...the sides were a good change from the usual...and the desserts? To die for!
Thanks to the 5 of you for inviting me and for the wonderful company. Can't wait for our next dining experiece! : )

Food looks FAB - great review. And the photo that guy took of you two was just too funny. Looks like he only captured the bits he wanted to see... ;)
Thanks! Re the white guy:What a perve!! LOL.
They should really pay you to advertise their restaurant - photos very well presented, I'm tempted to give it a try myself! (disclaimer: only if I'm permanently based there :p)
Suggestion: why dont you list the price as well so people know what they charge...
Thanks for the suggestion!: )...i've just editted it to include their prices.
xoxo
