Sexy Airbrush Legs...How to get them!

In Malaysia we only get a limited range of products from Sally Hansen...nail varnish, DIY french manicure kits, varnish remover...So when i was shopping at Century Pharmacy (kinda like our Guardian) in Plaza Senayan Jakarta and saw one whole section dedicated solely to Sally Hansen stuff i went a li'l ga-ga. Before u judge me and think i'm from jinjang, hear me out!!

I've always wanted to get a self-tanner for my legs. Something water proof but washable. Why don't i just go to a self-tanning salon u ask? Cause sad beauty-backward K.L. doesn't have one...Or maybe i just haven't found it. And I'm not keen on sunning myself cause i'm terrified of the sun's harmful UV rays. (Plus i gotta sun my ass too cause getting an uneven tanline is even more terrifying...so it's just plain inconvenient!)

I bought some self-tanning cream from England previously but it's goo-ey and messy and difficult to use so when i came across this product i was very happy...Ok i lie... I was EXTREMELY happy! : )

Spray On Perfect Legs in an Instant!

It says on the reverse:
"silky smooth long-lasting leg makeup that stays put and washes off. Covers freckles, veins and imperfections."

Directions are easy too: Shake well. Spray directly into hand and apply evenly all over legs. Allow to set for 60 seconds before dressing. Easily removed with water, soap and a face cloth.





...last week when clubbing at Rootz i suffered a minor fall... and no i was NOT tipsy... I was happily dancing with my girls when this bozo who ws dancing behind me accidentally stepped on my foot...I lost balance and fell...Got a pretty big bruise on my knee. So before going out this week thought i might as well try my super leg makeup!


It's an aerosol spray (like hair-spray) and comes out in a fine controlled mist...


...so i spray some directly into my hand first...



check out that bruise...it definitely needs coverage!



...gently apply evenly...
and voila! It's gone!!!



This leg makeup really works...
The best part is the coverage lasted all night and didn't stain my pretty white dress!

The Talented Mr. Jack Tan

I love taking photos... But guess what i love more than that?? Having my photos taken! : )

I'm so very very lucky i have the privilege and honour of knowing Jack. He's my big brother Sean's BESTEST friend. They have known each other for a very lonnnggg time. Their friendship goes waaaayyyyy back to their Uni days in Australia when they were both studying at Curtin University in Perth.

Jack and my bro first dabbled in photography when they purchased their 1st SLR camera. Sean tried taking some nice photos at dinners then lost interest cause he decided he preferred eating instead *nom nom..can't...take..nom...photos...nomnom...MUST. EAT...nom nom...*

Jack continued to pursue his passion and through practice and perseverance... is now an AMAZING photographer!

A few months ago Jack asked me to help him pose for a photo competition; The Essense of Subaru...Warren, Mickey, Jack and myself chose a secluded spot outside Kota Permai Golf Club to shoot some pictures. Overall it was a fun shoot albiet frustrating at times cause cars kept driving past and slowing down to see what we were doing...(not so secluded after all!)

Then down to serious business...After a few attempts... correction after MANY MANY attempts, Jack finally came up with this...

He named this shot "The Essence of Subaru...Turning Heads..."

This amazing shot went on to win the Grand Prize of the competition... : )

As with many great photographers, he's rarely seen without his camera. He brings it with him on his travels and took some really nice shots...

Dinner with the CLP girls... (+ a plumber)

I arranged dinner with my CLP girls recently... Although i studied undergrad law together with Jessie and Chia Yee for 3 years at the University of Sheffield, i felt i never really got to know them till we enrolled for our CLP class together at Brickfields.

Jia Hui had always been an acquintance to us Sheffield people. This Manchester Uni undergrad used to stray over to Sheffield every now and then so we kinda hung out.

(Unfortunately Liz is missing... but i guess that's a good excuse for us to do this again soon!)

Studying the CLP (Certificate of Legal Practice) really brought us girls closer. I'll always remember rushing all the way to Brickfields from Kota Kemuning for class (thank God for the NPE), trying to park in the least dangerous alleyways, shivering my tits off in the super cold lecture theatre, squeezing into the tiny lift cause we were too lazy to climb the 5 flights of staircase and trying to stay awake during Mr. Sukdave's lecture.

Gosh writing this brings back memories of the only reprieve we had: lunch!!... it was usually either mamak, the chinese kopitiam, or KFC! Then occasionally we would drive over to Bangsar for better food...

Who could forget our coffee breaks when all of us would troop down to Sebastian's little shack by the drain for Nestlo and some deep fried va-dey...How we would squeeze onto 1 tiny square foldable plastic table, balance on some super old plastic chair and the same topic of conversation would ensue everyday...We HAVE to pass our CLP exams at first try cause no way in hell were we gonna return to this sad sad place for another year!! Yup, that was how we motivated ourselves. Better study hard or u gonna end up drinking Sebastian's Nescafe for another long and ardous year!!!

But for all this bitching, 2 good things did arise from it. One: we somehow managed to get our freaking certificates and become lawyers... Two: I gained some very good friends... : )


We had dinner at PressRoom. A nice chic cafe in Bangsar Shopping Centre. I discovered this place when i attended my sister's birthday recently... The ambience was great with loads of friendly helpful staff. And i'm not exaggerating when i say the service was excellent... I think they must be really happy working there! : )

I arrived an hour late because Carmen mismanaged her time...She got carried away beautifying herself. I keep telling her she should follow me and not bother with make-up...Just go au naturel...hahahah..

Yes Carmen did study law with us at Sheffield but after graduation she decided to enrol herself into the School of Toilet Bowl Installation and Shower Head Plumbertry...hahahaha...




Pressroom offers a bistro-like menu. Reminds me of late night dining in Paris. Their dishes are pretty yummy and the prices are very very reasonable!

The duck confit is one of the best in KL: the skin is perfectly salted and oh so crispy, and the meat is eloquently juxtaposed by the rosti.

And somehow these 3 girls ordered the exact same dish!..How original!!



I had slow-braised Wagyu cheeks with yummy creamy risotto...I'm usually not a fan of risotto (too carby) but this was SO good i cleaned every morsel up!!!



Carmen had Risotto as her main. It was a strange green colour that reminded me of mushy peas (which i LURVE and she HATES)...I can't remember why it was green...maybe it was pesto...Anyway she said it was very yummy!

I think Jia Hui aka Mrs Kuok (as she calls herself when she wants to shiok sendiri) has the nicest bright-up-any-room smile!

Next it was time for dessert! We each HAD to order something so we could share-share...

Jessie ordered Almond Ice-Cream sundae and Chia Yee had some chocolate sauce thingy..

I didn't know what exactly what her dessert was but it was really rich...A li'l too rich for my liking. I felt that the texture was too monotonous. Would have preferred it with some crumbly bits or with ice cream...

Jia Hui had Crepe Suzette that was OK only. I had Pavlova that was light as air.

It was perfectly juxtaposed with dark cherries and passion fruit sauce. A perfect combination of sweet light airiness and heavy sour gooey-ness! OH SIMPLY HEAVENLY! : )

(i'll definitely go back just for this again...)

Overall i had a great evening... The food was excellent, the service impeccable and the company? EXCELLENT! We gotta do this again soon girls...Our next venue? Some condo in Tropicana... *hint hint*...I know u're reading this... ; )

The Lady in Blue

Last night on the way home from an event i came across a lady in blue... She said she had a great night...Met some interesting people, ate loads of canapes, drank some bubbly and took loads of photos...I said wow, sounds like the kind of party i like...

She then called Bang, (what an odd name i thought...) her dear friend from Singapore. Apparently she hasn't seen him in a while and really miss talking to him... She chatted with him for quite a while and yet it didn't seem enough...

Then she looked over at me...

...and her serene smile said she's so thankful for friends
who are there to start and end her day
and help keep her centered in between!
